We will stay with you to coordinate with the hospital’s doctors and nurses and make sure they follow through.

When you go to the doctor we’ll accompany you and take notes. We’ll ensure that your questions are answered, and that the doctor’s instructions are understood. We also send meeting notes to out-of-town family members of your choice.

The Alzheimer’s Association - Heart of America Chapter is the premier source of information and support for the 50,000 individuals and 200,000 family members and care partners living with dementia in our service area. Through the 65 counties we serve in Kansas and Missouri, the Heart of America Chapter offers a broad range of programs and services, including a 24-hour Helpline (800.272.3900), at no cost to families. We fund advancements in research to prevent, treat and ultimately conquer this disease and, with our volunteers, raise awareness of, and advocate for, the needs and rights of people with dementia.

SenCom is an organization of seniors (50 plus) who choose to develop skills that allow them to use E-mail, surf the Internet safely, Google, and Facebook, use word processing, and do many other computer tasks.

Our experienced teachers bring their own expertise on subjects taught in the Computer Lab. We have an up-to-date Computer Lab with Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines for hands-on use. The instructor also has each of his machines connected to a projector so that students can follow along on the screen.

We gather socially once every month, on the fourth Friday, for a luncheon; and answer computer-related questions. We call it SenCom Lunch & Learn.
